Procrastination is an abhorrent deed yet I am guilty of it. This explains the lack of update. Been busy with I-dunno-what that it hits me that the weeks went by in a twinkling. Really envious of those bloggers who diligently update their page and I am referring to really good, solid and beefy ones and NO - uploading of lyrics are not counted!

Anyway,Carl and I have been spending decent time with my sister, shady. Recently, we went for a movie " Angels and Demons" in town. Another great movie: definitely better and more engaging than Da Vinci Code. We had dinner at Japanese restaurant and here comes the highlight of the night part.

Chante: Holly shit! I forgot that you are only 15!
Shady looks shock: WHAT Lar?
Chante: that strawberry soda....
Shady: WHAT WHAT?
Chante: It contained alcohol! Darn! The waiter must has assumed you are the same age as us since we are together!
Shady looking very worried and slightly jaundiced.
Shady: urrrmmmm.....are you kidding me?
Carl: OMG! okay. Here's a litmus test. Shad, do you feel slightly high now?

Shady swallow the lump in her throat, looking guilty and answers: err...yeah.I feel so happy after dinner. Think about it I did feel great after dinner..it must have been the soda.
Carl: Oh no Shad! You drink.
Shad: errr…I think it is okay. I didn't know it was alcoholic so I think god will forgive me. It is alright to break the rule if you are not aware of it. You guys not telling dad right? Not drinking the soda anymore.
Carl: yeah. now you have sinned.

Shad looks more sinful than ever.

The fun filled night turns into a still 15 minutes of silence. Unable to withstand anymore, we roar into laughter.

Shady is just so gullible. This is the fun part having a younger sister; you can just pictch some daft cock and bull stories and they will buy it! Honey, the japanese restaurant is halal certified! of course no alcoholic beverage is served! MUAHAHAHA

Knock On Your Face

An odd coincidence makes life much simpler for me early today. An evil scoundrel aptly named, Smelly Turtle, had made the wrong move in the game of chess and indirectly disclosed her sinful and venomous scheme.

It began from an innocent and sincere sentence on my msn header: "Chante believes in Karma: What goes around comes around. Scary to know and ex-boss (who used to bully) passed away tragically," This cold fact which I learnt from an ex-colleague when we caught up last weekend was a rude shock to me. Our ex boss whom we used to detest for her rudeness and cruelness had a painful death. Lets not brood over the details. (it is just so rude to speak about someone who has already passed on.)

Anyway, this reminds us of the doctrine of Karma: We are responsible for our own happiness and misery as a result of our own past actions and our own present doings. We create our own Hell and Heaven. Basically, we are the architects of our own fate. So the main idea is: Just be nice to the people around you and have a big heart.

Back to the Smelly Turtle which i mentioned earlier read my shoutout and asked a friend, Pinky if I was angry with her and pressed more for details. The heated conversation ended up bitterly with Ms Smelly Turtle looking so inflamed unable to carry on with a losing debate with Ms Pinky.

Dear Smelly Turtle, why would I be mad at you for if you have not done anything wrong. Obviously, you must have schemed something bitingly wrathful that you are so scared that your evil doings will just bite you back some day.

Lesson of the day: Don't let your own doing knock you on your face.

As for me, I will adopt a bigger heart, keep inching forward and move on with my life.

I'm Liking this American Boy

In a blink of an eye, we are already half way through 2009. I must admit that I am glad that I had a great kick-start for the year 2009. I went to states!

Okay, so what if my trip was swines months ago. But the fact that Carl and I fulfilled the promise which we made to each other 10 ago - to visit the city of Angels together - was just so BIZARRE (to me at least!). The 11 days vacation was one of the most 'gungho' things we ever done in our lives. It is his virgin visit to the states whilst the seventh for mine.

The trip was a preview of what's marriage life gonna be: putting up with each other's idiosyncrasies, coexisting and lotsa compomising. Things like getting lost despite the assistance of the GPS (spelt out as my fault cos woman cant read map),Carl rushing me down to the states' hospital (like ER), being stuck in a four-hours-jam in Hollywood( issue of time management) and going against the traffic (spelt out his fault) were some of the blunders which we quarreled and screamed at each other about back then. On the hindsight, they are little things which we now laugh about.

Shopping in LA is the most wicked thing to do. Brands like Kate Spade, Coach, Bebe, Armani Exchange, Calvin Klein are dirt cheap over there. The Americans are just so friendly and warm. I went on a massive shopping spree. Carl went mad too with shopping. But having a better self control and willpower, he managed to resist many temptations whilst I failed completely: Everything seemed to be a necessity when I was there. It was so fun running from one shop to another; swiping your magic card, enjoying the adrenalin rush finding the best deals and the thrill of lugging your shopping bags home. However, the magic was gone and lost when I realised that I cant fit everything into my luggage.

We visited the country with 2 luggages and came back with four which was 20kg each plus 2 handcarry. As soon as I unpacked my luggages, I realised I had over done it: what the hell am I supposed to do with 11 Coach handbags, 4 Coach & Liz Claiborne wallets, 4 forever21 flats, 18 bottles of Victoria Secret body spray and many other things which not worth mentioning. So, I decided to sell them away.

I gathered my relatives and friends. Everything was snapped out within minutes as soon as I unpacked my luggage. The overwhelming response from everyone was unexpected. Thanks for your support guys! Many suggest that I should do more of this. So I told them to look out for my next trip (hint: Akan Datang!).

Anyway, if you wanna have an idea of what were sold on that day, I have decided to post some of the items which were up for grabs. Here are your eye candies:
